Seriously, who put that hurricane there!?

It was Saturday night, and my dinner outing plans had just been scrapped. As much as I loved to pop into Dragonica for a hacking spree, my gamer sensibilities disobeyed me.

“Hey you!” they cried out. “I think you need a game of sabotage, science and skill!”

“Like what?”

“Remember that game your friend played so fervently in Junior College? The one that almost turned her into a Straight-Es student?”

How could I have forgotten Gunbound? The excitement that came with each time my turn rolled around in this artillery-style MMO – where two teams shoot at each other in a fight to the death?  Could I pull off the stunt shot I had been planning for? Could I forget the fear that struck when the enemy trained his weapon in my direction – NUUUUUUUU!  WHY MEEEEE!

One reason why I just cannot get enough of Gunbound is its relevance to the world around us. Let me tell you: one of the tricks to mastering Gunbound is something your Physics teacher would definitely approve of.  Players have to calculate the angle and power of their shot to take into account the wind direction, as well as other elements that alter the path or velocity of their shot, like Hurricanes (which can be rather annoying, but they give a bonus!) and a change in terrain (because the map is riddled with holes from the impact of shots).

For the untalented, even the coolest avatars that money can buy cannot save your life. Ouch!

As gamers, we must accept the universal truth of the gaming world. You either pwn so bad, or suck so bad. In Gunbound, sadly I am the latter. The best stat-modifying items like pets and avatars from the cash shop cannot even save my puny life!

However at the end of each session, my gamer sensibilities were very pleased with my choice of Saturday Night activity.

“You still suck. So badly.” They remarked, but kindly so.

“Yeah, but we had fun, didn’t we!”

And all was well with the world. WE NEED MORE GAMES LIKE THIS. DO YOU HEAR ME, IAHGAMES?

WHAT? YOU JUST LAUNCHED A CHINESE GAME THAT IS LIKE GUNBOUND? SIGN ME UP!!
